MTV Joins the Internet, is Really Late to the Party

Well hey there MTV! Welcome to the intertubes/intarwebs/meme-filled-cyberspace. I see you’ve brouht your ENTIRE catalog of music videos. Wow, you’re finally giving what your original viewers know you for. MUSIC VIDEOS!!! Thank you!

But wait. Why is it that when I want to listen to your music in my background, but yet look or talk to someone else, you change bitrates on me. Are you mad that I’m not fully paying attention to you? Tsk tsk.

Ok, enough role playing.  It’s been a while since MTV has done something good.  Besides a select few shows that I sometimes watch on thier cable network, I hated MTV.  But today I’ve browsed through MTV’s response to YouTube. MTVmusic.com. I like the simple interface, NON-EXISTENT web ads and NON-EXISTENT commercials before the videos. Very awesome on MTV. Good job. Here’s a STAR sticker–oh wait.

Let, me take that star sticker back.  While writing this post about how good you are, you changed the video to a lower bitrate. The only way to get that bitrate back to high quality is to go back to the MTVMusic.com tab on your web browser, press fullscreen mode, and press ESC to get the player back into normal viewing mode (if you want).

Oh well. Nothing’s perfect. Welcome MTV. Expect Rick to be the Top Rated video… EVERYDAY.
