Pandora: the Death of FM Radio

I hate commercial ads on the radio. One day, you’re listening to the radio in your car and for some reason, the playlist they got going is REALLY GOOD. It’s so good that you don’t want it to stop! But then, like all good things, it does stop… for commercials. Ugh, so annoying.  Even more annoying is when you look for a good song that is playing and you’re flipping through the stations and all you STILL hear are commercials. UGH!

Thank god for mobile Pandora.  Now, you’ll never have to listen to ANY commercials.  For the past month and a half, I’ve been using the iPhone Pandora app.  Since then, I’ve never ONCE turned my car radio mode to “FM”.

What I do is plug in my iPhone to my MP3 jack of my car, put my car radio into “AUX” mode, and turn on Pandora. If you don’t have a MP3 jack in your car, get a radio transmitter that plugs into the headphones part of your phone.

Pandora is a streaming music player that plays over cellular data networks like Edge and 3G, and also over Wi-Fi.  The songs that play are tailored to you based on your first song selection. Each song that plays, you can either vote up or vote down.  Each vote will custom tailor the rest of the never-ending playlist to you.  If you vote down a song, it will skip it and play another song immediately.  Only thing is, is that you cannot skip or vote down more than 6 songs per hour.

Try it and I promise, you wont miss or need your old school FM radio.
