The other day I spoke to a friend about Mirrors Edge. Told him that I was excited to play it. I don’t have an Xbox360 or a PS3 (–HEY! don’t look at me like that. I’m a casual gamer with a MacBook, PC and a dusty Wii.). So, I have to wait for the PC release on Jan 2009. I told him I loved the trailers, story line, and theme song. Of course I won’t know about the gameplay until I actually play it for myself.
My friend told me he downloaded and played the demo. He wasn’t all the impressed. He felt that “the gameplay was repetative.” That statement broke me heart. He then continued to say that “trailers for video games are what get you. After you pay your $50, the video game companies don’t care about you. That’s why they put a lot of effort into trailers like Mirror’s edge.” I just replied, “I hope it lives up to the hype.”
What do you guys think? Will it live up to it?
