I’m not a fan of Christmas shopping and niether should anyone else be. Everyone should do Christmas shopping online. Just the other day, I agreed to tag along with my girlfriend to purchase 1 item from Nordstroms for her best friend as a Christmas present. While on the trip I was reminded why I hated Christmas shopping.

On the way to the local mall there was traffic just to get into the mall parking lot. Once in, we took 15 more minutes just to find a parking space. After all of that, we had to deal with the crowds of people and cashier line.

Now, maybe I’m just ranting about it all, but it made me wonder. With all of this stress and time being wasted for presents, why isn’t online Christmas shopping more widely used? You don’t use your precious gas, stress over that lady who stole your parking that you’ve claimed with your signal light first, or become a holiday shopping running back to push through the crowds. An added bonus for online shopping is that you could do it in your pajamas, robe, or if you prefer, naked.

I asked my question to my girlfriend to which she replied, “Because people don’t want to pay for shipping.” I then told her that there are many online stores that are doing free shipping during this holiday season.

So shoppers, my question to you is, what is the purpose of offline shopping during the holiday season? The internet is safe for shopping now. Let the online stores and shipping companies stress over getting your present under the tree.
