I want to apologize for getting your heart rate up, but this fancy piece of art belongs to Matt Lackey. I found Matt while at the SDSU Art Show with my girlfriend. When I saw his art project, my eyes grew big, my heart rate went up and I immediately picked up the CD box and poster.
I knew that this was fake, but being a geek that has respect for the arts, I couldn’t stop staring at the quality of the work of the poster. Then, when opened the CD Case, which was made out of wood, I geeked out while geeking out. It was like taking out some ammo out of a pouch. A very unique and cool idea that some big time game devs or studios should look at.
It was at this time the owner of the project saw me geeking out. Matt introduced himself and gave me 2 of his posters that he had on display. I thanked him graciously and asked to post these pics on the site. He agreed but also sent us his process photos. To view all the photos, go past the break.
A BIG thanks again to Matt for lending us these shots of his great art piece! For more information about Matt, check out his site at http://mattlackey.net.
