The RIAA is finally leaving the little people alone and start talking to ISPs to help combat the illegal downloading of music. I’m not sure when this cat and mouse game is going to end, but it only makes their customer base want to steal more because of DRM.
Just the other day a co-worker of mine bought music from iTunes. He thought, since he bought the whole album, he could just move the music to any computer and any portable player. He did buy the songs so he could do whatever he wanted with it, right? Well, that’s when I broke the news to him that even though he bought it, he didn’t “own it.” As he tried to put iTunes music into his blackberry, he found out the hard way about DRM.
The next day he came to me and said, “I found it easier just to get it from Limewire.”
