The new Apple Tablet from Axiotron
Well our predictions for MacWorld Apple keynote weren’t that far from the truth, minus the lack of love for the Mini. The usual rumours about a Mac tablet type device didn’t come true, or at least not from Apple themselves.
Axiotron’s Modbook Pro is a commercially available mod for the new Unibody MacBook Pro which turns the laptop into a tablet complete with touchscreen support in OS X. The Modbook Pro is a fine looking device which combines the power of the new MBP with the advantages of the touchscreen interface in a sleek looking aluminium body. Similar to Axiotron’s ModBook, based on a MacBook, the tablet is a well engineered and thought out Mac Tablet conversion available directly from Axiotron on a new MBP or as a conversion for a MBP you happen to already have in your possession.
If you’re in the market for a new tablet PC for drawing or accurate on-screen manipulation check it out, it might be right up your street if $4998 is burning a hole in your pocket.
