Some are saying it’s like “Big Brother” watching over us again. I tend to think it’s a good way to give advertisers the valuable information about the people who actually stop and stare at your ad. I work at an ad agency and we take a LOT of time to make web ads that the regular person would just skip over or not even see it because they have ad blocked on.
If I were to see an ad on one of these screens that was really well done, I would give it a minute or two of my life to look at the artwork. I don’t mind them knowing that I’m a 26 year old Filipino male that was shopping at (X) mall. If it sucks, then of course I’d just walk by.
Advertisers want information that’ll help get thier product out to the eyes of those certain people they are catering to. Let them have that info. It’s not like they are taking down your personal information. Your sex, skin color, and approximate age is public to EVERYONE. People just need to stop being paranoid.
