Would you play a game called Bumble Tales? Yeah, I know what you mean.
It’s a colorful, playful, happy casual game that simply requires a demanding persistence in pointing and clicking.
The developers are perhaps considering more vigorous tasks (for example, a time-attack mode), but for now, the game asks that you connect three colors together. This will help you gain resources to build a town and is supposedly an incentive to further continue your gameplay. There are 15 of these buildings to construct, more than 120 levels to breeze through, and 35 characters to unlock—with names like “Romeo Concerto” and “Hank Boyd Trite,” why wouldn’t you want to unlock them?
The music in Bumble Tales is very fitting and is notably well-done. The game was built on Torque’s Gamebuilder with a 2D engine that allows 3D models. An iPhone application will be available in May.
If you don’t play for the killer storyline and the thrilling narration, play for the rumbling visual effects and the cute bumble creatures. The game is set to be released sometime in the next month by Tandem Games. And regardless of all of the seemingly backhanded compliments, the game is actually very well put-together and is definitely worth a try.
