The four day passes are not sold out yet. The preview nights are sold out, but you can still purchase 4 day passes without the preview night. The preview night is a FIFTH day.

carmen, you may still be able to get in Saturday by registering to volunteer. My friend and my sister both did this a couple days ago. You volunteer 3 hours and you're in after that. We'll see how it works. Good luck

I can't believe I waited so long...this is supposed to be my 10th CCI...I don't believe it's sold out...I don't believe it! and what's worse, it happened in March?! I didn't know! Please have sympathy for us lazy procrastinators, it's built into our brains! We can't help it. I mean, I can pull money from my savings, and buy all 4 passes now (granted they don't sell out in the next 24 hours) but the fact that they did sell out 4 months in advance boggles me. and the fact that I'm so out of the loop baffles me, but that's my personal problem. :) Do you think they'll somehow release more if any are cancelled or anything like that?

Agree with Bob... too many people. And the scheduling of panels has become lousy. They schedule the good stuff at the same time or very close together forcing you to choose, whereas, in only 4 years ago I could go to pretty much anything I wanted to. Now the lines for most rooms are so long that you have to get in a couple of panels BEFORE the one you really want. Here's what it comes down to, if you're not a fan, if you're just one of these lookie-looks who came because 'people' said it was 'cool', DON'T GO! I'm one of the geeks who dresses up and all that. The worst thing to see at a comic convention is wannabe fans who will point and gawk and make fun of the real geeks who dress up or whatever. If you just want a freak show, find it elsewhere, because the geeks are getting tired of Comic Con's recent popularity with wannabes. Can I get an 'AMEN'.

I remember a few years ago before they started selling out of 4 day passes, you could not move at all in the lobby, let alone in the dealers room. With no cap on the attendence, not only is it overcrowded, the air conditioners stop working at a certain point. The A/C can only handle SO many people.
I will also assume that because the economy is in the trash right now, the convention center has probably raised prices on a number of stuff, like the convention center rental and security.

The way it works is they are allowed X amount of people in attendance each day. This is mandated by the Fire Marshall. They have to figure everyone with a 4-day pass will be there each day. They don't want to leave out the people that can only attend one day of the event. So, they only sell y amount of 4-day passes, and then the rest of the attendance limit for each day in single day passes. I buy my 4-day pass for the next year while I am at Comic-Con. It is budgeted into my spending for the weekend. I feel no compassion for those that wait. Sadly for those that waited too long it appears that passes can't be transferred due to reselling on eBay and Craigslist.
