That’s right. I’m saying your plants can use Twitter to tell you if they need water.

Pothos uses this device called Botanicalls to update status on your plants health via Twitter. The device basically has a bunch of moisture sensors that measures the soil. It also uses a software that calibrates the sensors to the specific plant. The software also lets you customize the vernacular the plant uses. Pretty nifty right?
“Botanicalls opens a new channel of communication between plants and humans, in an effort to promote successful inter-species understanding.
The Botanicalls project is fundamentally about communication between plants and people. We are empowering both by inventing new avenues of interaction. Plants that might otherwise be neglected are given the ability to call and text message people to request assistance. People who are unsure of their ability to effectively care for growing things are given visual and aural clues using common human methods of communication.”-Via www.Botanicalls.com
If you love your plant you will have no problem shelling out $99 dollars for the kit (which is totally ridiculous cause you could get Pothos at home depot for less than a quarter of that price.) If you’re just a GEEK, assembly is required!

Now if only there was a device where my Dog could use Twitter to tell me when it needs to go outside or eat. Then we would be totally set.
