Folks…we’ve been had. It turns out Valve is craftier than we thought.

Looks like the TF2 Sniper Update was all one big lie on their part, a sneaky way to introduce the new Spy update…or at least it would have, had the new Meet the Spy video not been leaked on youtube. But wait a minute. Who leaked the video? It was Valve. Apparently, someone uploaded the video onto youtube and forgot to set it to private. Major internet fail, Valve. But at least they admit it.

While Robin Walker seems to be on the warpath, if their blog is to be believed, Valve has released the video on their site as day 5 of the Sniper Spy Update, as well as a set of Spy related achievements. So, now it seems the Spy Update is in full swing…if there’s anyone left at Valve to work on it, that is.

   it’s interesting that on the “soundboard” in the beginning of the video there is an option for “leaked video” as with other interesting choices.

   Good eye. Who knows…maybe a certain someone *cough*Sniper*cough* leaked the video on purpose as vengeance for the Spy stealing his update.
