Can your router roam a battlefield equiped with treads and remote control? No? Not even my Airport Extreme does that (Extreme, ha, yeah right).
iRobots new venture the Ember microbot that is supported by a $2.5 million contract from DARPA (you know that wacky government insane asylum that brings the US military things like REAPERs and other terminator type goodies). The LANDroids initiative aims to provide wireless connectivity across the battlefield with robots no bigger than a pack of cards. Ember isn’t that small yet but it’s still an impressive feat. Packed with an integrated camera and extension capabilities via USB (iTunes server on the battlefield anyone?) and SDIO the little rover has all sorts of possibilities especially since their aim is to bring them down to $100 or less. I would definitely buy one of these badboys at that kind of price point.
