Wordulous is the latest game from 99Games who produce games such as Chess Pro and Wordsworth that we’ve looked at in the past. Wordulous, as the name suggests is another word game. Similar to Game House’s Text Twist available on the iPhone through Real Arcade, the aim of the game is to make as many words as possible from a series of scrambled letters. Words successfully made are scored on an old school black board (or in this case green) until either you’ve made all the words possible or the timer runs out.
The game features several modes of play including Practice, which gives you unlimited play; Examination where you play against a clock in a one round game; and Challenge, which lets you send out a challenge to anyone in your address book or through Facebook connect, competing with them for the highest score in a one round game.
The game has a little girl as a mascot that tells you how you’ve done, comparing your skill level to professions such as a salesman (which is apparently good). Overall the game is pretty well presented, cute graphics and decent sound effects combine well, although if you’re anything like me you’ll be playing it muted most of the time.
If you’re into word games and want something a bit cuter than Text Twist, then Wordulous isn’t bad at all. I’m quite a fan of word games on the iPhone and this has to be one of the better ones available at the moment.
Wordulous is available (at the time of writing) from the App Store for $0.99 (£0.59).

Hi Sam,
Thanks a lot for giving us such a nice review. Glad that you liked Wordulous. Wanted to add that you have the option of listening to songs on your iPod/iPhone if you want.
Also the bonus round makes the game a lot of fun :)
Cheers!!!
