Yesterday, we received an email about a website that someone wanted us to review.:
Hi my name is Roxy I am one of 3 owners of the site Nurdgurl.com. We are trying to make a name for ourselves and we wondering if you would like to do an article about our site. If you are interested let me know and I will provide you with what ever information you need.
Thanks
Roxy
NurdGurl.com is a soft-core porn site that features “Gurls” cosplaying as video game characters. The web site aims to cash out by charging us nerds or geeks for naked females imitating the fictional women we grew to love. The major problem here is that the exploitation of our desires are insultingly blatant. The site design reeks horrible web design, lame photography, and an even lame voice over in their free videos.
To read the rest of my review, go past the break:
The site is very low budget and poorly planned. How can one tell? Just look at their source code:
<!-- Save for Web Slices (Home.psd) -->
And check out that awesome <map> code. Seriously, who uses image mapping nowadays? It seems like someone hired a handful of girls from a local strip club or Craigslist, built a “site” in five minutes and blasted emails to any Nerd/Geek blog they could find on the net.
Unfortunately, we may be giving them some free publicity by fulfilling their request. Ahem.
However, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen porn try to break into the wallets of nerds or geeks. A website called “NerdCore” has been selling calendars with topless no-name models or washed up Import Car Show models who have no idea what a nerd or geek is (I’m looking at you, Sara Brinsfield.)
Here’s another example how this is a failed business model – remember the failed porn movie based on World of Warcraft, World of Whorecraft? (Link NSFW)
It’s plain and simple: we will never spend a single penny on porn, no matter what you try. NurdGurl.com, our best advice to you is to close down your site before you waste any more of the ten dollars you used to make it.
