Today, SciFi fans got a real treat in the form of a 10 minute preview of ABC’s upcoming V remake at the London Expo. Due to air on 3rd of November, 8/7c in the US (2010 in the UK), V is a remake of a classic 80’s SciFi mini series that captured over 10 million viewers by storm. The reboot keeps with the theme of the original but gives it a 21st Century twist.

Hit the break for more reasons to watch.

Briefly, aliens come to Earth in 29 flying saucers suspended above major cities across the world and announce that they’re here in peace but need some assistance. They propose to trade water and minerals for some ‘life enhancing’ technology. Of course it’s not as simple as that and things take a nasty turn as a certain FBI agent’s suspicions grow.

Having seen the preview, I can safely say that you should definitely tune in for the pilot on the 3rd. With high production values and full of jet crashes, spaceships with giant faces and even Jesus trying to kill a guy in a wheelchair. Certainly something you’re not going to want to miss!

Recently I tried to watch the original series to know what the story was all about… The first 2 episodes were sooo cheesy that I couldn’t continue watching it. :S

Cheesy pretty much sums up most of the 1980’s SciFi. The preview certainly didn’t elude to containing much fromage, so you might be safe with the remake. No guarantees mind.
