There are so many talented artist out there. Recently while on Deviant Art I was going through some Ocarina of Time withdrawals and decided to find some great Zelda Fan Art. I quickly discovered Michelle Morris’s Deviant Art Gallery. After going though her Zelda Art I quickly discovered her Sailor Moon section. Which has some really great artwork. Here is a little Q&A I had with Michelle. Be sure to check out her gallery.

Artist of the Week: Michelle Morris

Deviant Art

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I currently work full time and go to college for my Graphic Design and Animation degrees. I’ve been drawing for about 17 yeas now.

What’s been your inspiration for art?
My first inspiration was my dad. He’s an artist as well and I started drawing when I was about seven. I got really into the anime style in the year 2000.

What supplies do you use for your art?
When I work traditionally I just use crayola colored pencils. For digital I use Photoshop 7 and my Pensuite tablet.

Any Tips or Tricks on art?
I’m not too sure this counts as a trick, but the best tip I’d say is tutorials. Read as many tutorials as you can about anything you’re trying to learn. I learned a lot of what I know about Photoshop from just reading tutorial after tutorial.

Any advice for a beginners?
As I already said tutorials are great for beginnings. Another thing to remember is practice is essential. It may sound cliche but practicing as often as you can is one of the best things you can do as an artist.
