Fallen Earth is one of the latest and lesser known MMOs to hit the street in recent months. This game is any steam punk’s or Falllout fanatic’s wet dream. As a hybrid, Fallen Earth combines aspects of first person shooters and MMOs. From what I’ve seen, there are no orcs to kill here folks. This new world is a post apocalyptic desolate environment where your character must grab everything possible to survive. Sounds like Fallout, doesn’t it?
To be honest, after playing this game for about 20 hours it does feel an awful lot like Fallout. And is that a bad thing? In a world where every orc and human conflict game is compared to Warcraft, isn’t it appropriate that post apocalyptic games are compared to the Fallout legacy? As far as I’m concerned, it should be a compliment being compared to such outstanding games. Though the post apocalyptic genre of games has been explored, it is good to see Icarus Studios create their own world.
After playing Fallen earth, I can honestly say I was entertained and there is still so much explore. With past experiences, my standards for what makes a good MMO have gone up. Despite World of Warcraft spoiling m, Fallen Earth leaves me with a warm and fuzzy. The world seems to be worth exploring and the sense of helplessness will make trying trying to survive a fun and unique experience. I think the best way to play Fallen Earth is to create a character in the image you imagine yourself being in this situation.

Fallen Earth has a massive in depth real-time crafting system. Even now I’m not too sure what hat means. I haven’t crafted anything in game yet, but I hear positive things about the the system Icarus Studios has created. And rumor has it that the best gear in game is created by characters. ![]()
Bottom line. Fallen Earth isn’t a completely unique game, but it takes a lot of good ideas and presents them in a new setting. For anyone looking for a good game to play while waiting for Cataclysm, Fallen Earth is a great way to fill the void. If you are simply looking for a good survival shooter MMO Fallen Earth is worth playing with as well. As far as I can tell Fallen Earth is a solid combination of a shooter and MMO and offers a different perspective on the virtual worlds we play in. So far I have really enjoyed the experience and I suggest that any lost MMO gamer have a look. ![]()
