CES 2010 – Review: Polaroid Pogo

Posted by: |

After returning from the Polaroid Party it was time to test out the Polaroid Pogo. I wasn’t familiar with the product at first, but seeing is believing. I was introduced to the product by brief demo, I have to say I was blown away by the idea. It reminded me of the old days of having a Polaroid Camera. So what is a Pogo? How does it hold up as a product? Check out the full review after the break.

Let’s start off with the simple question. What is the Pogo? The Pogo is a small Printer that makes printing photos totally easy and fun. Pogo is about the same size of the Iphone just a bit thicker. It uses a Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery that makes for easy portability. The best thing about the Pogo Printer is it uses Zink aka: Zero Ink. Instead it uses a special paper that it prints on. To load the paper simple pop open the top and slide the paper in. It takes a few seconds to process the paper then bam your all ready to go. The Pogo has 2 ways to connect to the device to print your pictures. The simplest being USB. I plugged my Casio Exlim into the device and it immediately recognized it and gave me the option to print my picture. The second way is more for those that take pictures on their cellphones. You can connect to the Pogo using Bluetooth. The only downside to this is that it doesn’t work with the Iphone. I’m sure a App could solve this problem but currently there isn’t one available.

My Thoughts:

I’m really impressed with what Polaroid has set out to do. I myself have had a color printer for quite sometime but always find myself cheeping out and printing in B&W just to save color ink. Mainly cause I didn’t want to pay another $20 for Ink. The Pogo really stands out much like the old Polaroid Cameras. It really trys to make things fun and easy. The Device is small and compact and could really come in handy for any Artists wanting to make small prints of their pieces on the fly.

Overall:

I’m pretty impressive product from Polaroid. It’s a small compact printer that makes photo sharing fun and easy again.
