Cosplay Goodness [PAX East]

It’s what you’ve been waiting for.  You know it’s true.  It’s a conference, an expo, a super-splendid geek amassing.  And this can only mean one thing: the cosplay was out of control.  And, you’d be right: Justin, Rett, and I saw the gamut of cosplayers at PAX East.  We witnessed anime superstars, gaming heroes and villains, and the occasional sexy/confusing/bewildering/hilarious whatchamacallit from whatsits game about schmagglesbuggery (that last one I totally made up and am super proud of it).  Anyway, without further delay, check out the cosplay glory after the break.  I snapped as many pics as my little digital camera could hold and my geeky brain could handle without laughing or hemorrhaging from facial orifices.  Enjoy!

Auron’s automatically awesome.  Especially when he’s played by a woman.

Carl from the Penny Aracde Automata series.

Damn right it’s Axe Cop.

Hummina hummina Bayonetta *drool*

Justin gets poisoned by Black Widow.

Be careful Mega Man: this foe chucks bombs yo.

Growwwwwwl, awwwrrrrrrr!

Daisy and Luigi ready to bring some support.

You KNOW that the Fruit Fucker had to be there!

Wait a minute.  You’re not Gordon.  Meh, it’s still a brain.

Arguably the most impressive one there: Isaac from the Dead Space series.

A Fallout 3 bot?  Great: there goes the afternoon.

Just in case of a zombie outbreak, we were covered.

YESMOUSERWASTHEREOMGYES!!!! (P.S.: The “BOMB” is not digital; he made that)

Female pirate = total hotness.

Morrigan and Sephiroth together?!  Time to take cover.

Not sure.  But, you know, damn.

Super impressed by the Team Fortress 2 commitment.

The Scout’s about to wreck some face.

One Tingle: annoying.  Two Tingles: insufferable.  Two cute Tingles: totally fine.

Finally: Rett feels all is well with Yoshi nearby!

Well, that about wraps up the cosplay action at PAX East!  Check back later for one more on-hands article (I quickly summarize my mind-blowing Starcraft 2 session) and a couple of “final thoughts” articles from Rett, Justin, and myself.  I am exhausted, at home, watching The Queen on AMC, and reminiscing about the glory that was PAX East this past weekend.  I’ll be back to my normal table-top articles later this week.
