Dollhouse: What I Think So Far

Yes, I’m terribly late getting on this train, I apologize. But I feel like it’s better to watch a series all in one go rather than waiting a week in between. Luckily, Netflix Streaming allows me to do this at an affordable price and they just put up season 1 of Dollhouse. Lucky me.

The plot of Dollhouse is as follows:

The show follows an organization that employs mind-wiped humans known as Dolls who are implanted with false memories and skills for various missions and tasks. When they are not ‘at work’ they are living in a real life Dollhouse which gives the show the name. One of those mind-wiped humans, a young woman named Echo, is slowly starting to become aware of herself and what’s going on – all the while somebody on the outside is trying to bring the Dollhouse down while getting closer to Echo – possibly not aware that she is one of the Dolls he is after.

Currently I’m on episode six and I love it. In such a short time this show has revealed that even with all the technology to “wipe” a person’s brain, the human brain will still retain residual memories of ourselves before and put up a struggle to resurface. Oh yeah, I totally went all science geek on your ass.

While the show focuses mainly on Echo, I would really like to see episodes focused on the other dolls like Sierra or Victor. It’s only episode six (which, by the way, has a total mindfuck hidden near the end) so we’ll see how it pans out. Though an episode that shows how Topher was recruited would be really nice too. He’s my favorite character so far.

If you haven’t checked this show out yet, I highly recommend it. So far it’s intriguing and gives off a “cloak and dagger” feel that I always enjoy.
