Capcom’s E3 booth featured several intriguing offerings, but among the most interesting were Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and Dead Rising 2.
Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds was front and center. This newest entry in the popular series sticks to series tradition; the demo on display still had the spark of prior incarnations once we got used to the new controls and cell-shaded models. Old-style Hadokens, close-up special attacks, and flexible combos are still very much in evidence, even though old favorites like Ryu, Iron Man, and Morrigan are joined by newcomers Deadpool (Marvel), Chris Redfield (Resident Evil), and Dante (Devil May Cry). Beautiful graphics with a consistent comic book style and fluid gameplay make this Spring 2011 something to look forward to; the demo on the floor seemed plenty playable already.
Dead Rising 2 impressions past the break as well as a video interview.
