Spare Change: Dead Space 2 Collector’s Edition

If you are terrified of a Necromorph Infestation, you might want to turn on the lights and grab your Plasma Cutter. In cyberspace no one can hear you scream. We’re going to dismember the Collector’s Edition of Dead Space 2.

The Collector’s Edition comes with the full game, a Replica Plasma Cutter, original sound track, concept art lithograph, and downloadable Zealot Force Gun and Suit. After removing the sleeve, the box opens in the front and there is a trifold of Isaac looking forward at his next hellish nightmare. One panel has a diagram, much like a user manual for the plasma cutter. The Plasma Cutter comes in a box that looks like schematics and blue prints. Its size is scaled down and it lights up, but batteries aren’t included. I was trying to get it to light up before I realized this. It is highly detailed, but clearly made out of plastic. The trigger works, and it actually has moving parts which make it feel realistic. It is a neat little piece to have on your desk. The sound track is powerful, now you can take the terrifying sound track on the go. The lithograph concept art is a depiction of a slasher necromoph; a nice treat for the diehard fans who live and breathe Dead Space. The exclusive downloadable armor is a nice touch; it even carries over to multiplayer.

The Collector’s Edition cost is about $20 more than the standard edition, and gives you your money’s worth. A worthwhile use of your Spare Change.
