New Wonder Woman costume. Yay or Nay?

Ta-Da!  And so it’s been revealed, Entertainment Weekly has posted an exclusive look at the Wonder Woman costume for the currently in production David E. Kelley remake of the 70’s Wonder Woman TV show.  There’s been a lot happening on this show since it’s been given a chance at NBC including the casting of Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, Elizabeth Hurley (Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged me) as Wonder Woman’s villain Veronica Cale, and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) as Henry Detmer.

Upon seeing this costume the first thing that comes to mind is the $99 Deluxe Wonder Woman costume from Party City.  It’s understandable that WW’s original costume may be a little on the risqué side with the booty shorts and all, but this costume looks plastic and half-assed.  It’s a shame because Adrianne Palicki does look pretty stunning and even with this poor costume she’s definitely got a good look for the role.

It could be possible that this is simply a preliminary design or just a prototype, but a one of the largest design flaws that’s jumping off this costume is that the PVC pants are the same color as her J.C. Penney boots.  Changing up the color scheme seems to be obvious, but it also seems obvious not to use plastic for the armor accent pieces.

Let me know what you think out there.  Are you for it, against it? And what would you change, if anything.
