With less than two weeks until the release of Portal 2, it seems Valve is expanding the Portal universe with a comic.
Entitled Portal 2: Lab Rat, the first part of the comic is set to launch exclusively on IGN Comics tomorrow, Friday April 8th. Lab Rat takes place between the first two games, bridging the gap between the two, setting up the sequel’s plot, and detailing some of Aperture Science’s background.
The project, a joint work between Valve and IGN Comics, is being headed by members of Valve’s in-house staff including Portal 2 writers Erik Wolpaw, Chet Faliszek, and Jay Pinkerton as well as Michael Avon Oeming, artist for the Left 4 Dead webcomic adaptation of “The Sacrifice.” Oeming is also credited as artist and writer for a long list of notable comic entries.
Will there be cake? Who knows. But we can only hope.
