PG! reported yesterday that all Sony Online Entertainment services were taken offline due to a suspected intrusion. Amidst all of the accusations and suspicion of infamous internet group Anonymous’s involvement, it seemed no one was suspecting an attack by a former or current employee.
As reported by the Hollywood Reporter on March 31, SOE just laid off 205 workers and merged some of its studios. This raises a lot of questions, and suggests a possible motive for a disgruntled employee to bring down the company that just laid him/her off.
