In an announcement today, 2K Games revealed that a sequel to the highly successful RPG/FPS hybrid Borderlands is in the works, set for release during the next fiscal year.
Few details have been released, but Borderlands 2 is slated for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms, with new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons, and equipment. It will also feature new, unexplored areas of Pandora for players to discover.
More details will be given in the September issue of Game Informer, while 2K Games and Gearbox Software will be taking the game on the road for a first look at Gamescom and PAX Prime later this month.
