The Elder Scrolls Online

It shall come to pass that in the year 2013 AD an Elder Scroll MMO will arrive for PCs and Macs.

“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, the game director for The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.” That team is the crew at ZeniMax Online Studios, developing the game.

The game will take place a millennium before Skyrim. Players face the challenge of stopping the daedric prince Molag Bal from pulling Tamriel down into his demonic realm. The Elder Scrolls Online will combine the incredible exploration that players have experienced in past single-player Elder Scrolls titles along with the community and shared world of MMORPGs.

Juicy details are pretty scarce, but so far news includes three different player factions, public dungeons, and open-world PvP warfare driving the three-sided conflict.

More details are said to be coming soon, including magazine articles across the globe, a screenshot, and even a teaser trailer.
