Teaser Trailer for New Amnesia Game Released

Yesterday, a countdown began on Frictional Game’s official website for their newest installment in the Amnesia series. Many hoped the countdown led to the release date – or at least more information – about the Amnesia sequel A Machine for Pigs.

This afternoon, Frictional Games answered their wishes, and released the first teaser trailer for the sequel on their YouTube account.

The original Amnesia: The Dark Descent was recently placed on the Humble Indie Bundle V.  Frictional Games announced on their YouTube channel that they intended to release a teaser for A Machine for Pigs once they reached a certain milestone in total payments. However, the popularity of the bundle meant their milestone was reached before they could put anything together.

This trailer was the intended reward.

Dear Esther game developer thechineseroom is developing the game, with Frictional Games producing. thechineseroom was also responsible for the teaser trailer. A Machine for Pigs is not intended to be a direct sequel to the original Amnesia, and will follow a new character in the late 1800s as he discovers his own reason for amnesia. Details about the game when it was announced were covered in a prior post.

No release date has been set for the game, which will be playable on PC and Mac.  The expected release date according to Frictional will be fall of this year.
