It’s that time of year again; The Comic-Issues Halloween Contest! And this year it’s all about pumpkins!
We’re giving prizes for the most original pumpkin decoration. Carve it, paint it, make one out of paper mache if you’re not fond of gourds (we don’t judge) and send us a picture!
Just so we’ll know it’s a pumpkin made by you and you alone, make sure to put Comic Issues in the photo. You can print out a logo and prop it next to your pumpkin, or call up the Comic Issues page on your phone and hold that up in the picture. (If you carve Comic Issues on your pumpkin, you get extra points and a golf clap.)
Pictures are due no later than midnight, November 1st, 2013. Entries are judged on originality and awesomeness, any theme is accepted, we want to see what cool ideas you come up with.
First prize, courtesy of Quirk Books, is a selection from their amazing “Quirk Classics” collection: Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After, and Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters.
Second prize, also thanks to Quirk Books, is the Tales from Lovecraft Middle School collection, volumes 1 – 4.
And third prize, because Quirk Books is just awesome, are the books How to Survive a Horror Movie, Bedbugs, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
And last but most definitely not least, courtesy of our favorite comic shop The Villainous Lair, the “Lair’s Choice” award will go to the best comic-book-themed submission, and the prize is a trade paperback of Batman: The Long Halloween.
