Capcom reveals the fifth and final character for Ultra Street Fighter 4

During Final Round 17 in Atlanta Georgia, Capcom finally revealed the newest character to join the Street Fighter 4 roster!

The new character, Decapre, is one of M.Bison’s assassins and body guards known as “Dolls”. Unfortunately for the fighting game community, Decapre appears to be a clone of Cammy White with a few notable differences. Unlike Cammy, Decapre is a charge character with crazy mobility and combo potential. But, before I start analyzing her apparent abilities, let’s have Decapre’s reveal trailer and a little back story.

Decapre is a Russian born teenager who was kidnapped and subsequently brainwashed by Shadaloo. Her appearance is that of Cammy except in a full body suit, a face mask, and gauntlets that have claws on them. This will probably be elaborated on when the game actually comes out but in the trailer we see a brief cut scene that has an apparently young Decapre being comforted by Cammy. So it would seem that Cammy and Decapre shared a special bond but something happened between the two which results in Decapre’s face being burned, thus the face mask, and she evidently harbors a large amount of hatred towards Cammy.

Shown in the trailer below, Decapre shares a lot of moves with Cammy, except with the notable difference that Decapre’s moves have a touch of Psycho energy infused into them. During Final Round 17 it was also stated that Decapre is a charge character which should drastically differentiate her play style from Cammy’s but I suspect in the first few months people will try to play Decapre as if she’s Cammy and I doubt it’ll go well. Her damage output seems to be higher compared to Cammy’s, and her Ultra 1 combo seems to be very combo-able.

Anyway, Decapre joins the Street Fighter 4 roster with Elena, Hugo, Poison, and Rolento who all made their returns in Street Fighter x Tekken. So with the addition of these five characters, edition select, and the obligatory tweaks to the rest of the characters, Ultra Street Fighter 4 is shaping up to be a welcome game changer to the six year old fighting game.
