RollerCoaster Tycoon Sequel Coming Early 2015

In some unanticipated but exciting news, Atari just announced that RollerCoaster Tycoon is coming back to PC in early 2015.

Titled RollerCoaster Tycoon World, the game will bring back the popular amusement park sim that started in 1999.

The game annoucement comes off the heels of RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, which was panned due to it’s micro-transactions despite the game not being free to begin with.

Atari has stated that the new game will be “micro-transation free” and will utilize some of the same aspects of other sim games lately. Ability to share blueprints and parks online as well as visit others’ parks will be a part of the game.

The last PC release of RollerCoaster Tycoon was in 2004 and in that time, Atari remarks that they have been able to create and add features to the game that were previously unavailable at the time.

There is no word on an official release date, but expect the game to drop in the early part of 2015.
