Nintendo bringing the Holiday Fun

With the next-gen console war in full swing and the PS4 in first place, the biggest question is: who’s going to be number 2? Before E3 2014, it was assumed that Xbox One might have a trick up their sleeve to either knock the PS4 off it’s perch or something to solidify 2nd place.

While Nintendo certainly brought their A Game to E3, they took it a step further with this year’s holiday release list and some surprises which truly make me want to pick up a Wii U.

Well let’s start with the surprises first. I already had Smash Bros. on my radar, but both Pokemon and Mario Kart are looking quite interesting.

Mario Kart DLC:

While the first DLC for Mario Kart 8 (better known as the Mercedes Benz DLC) wasn’t that intriguing for me. It was nice to see DLC being free for a change. This DLC will remain free until August 27th.

Though for actual paid content, Nintendo is releasing two packs of DLC for Mario Kart 8. Each set is 7.99 a piece or you can buy them in a bundle at 11.99.

Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

I’ve just finished Pokemon X and currently watching the series with my kiddo, so let’s just say I’ve been on a bit of a Pokemon kick. After the announcement of Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire I was more then a little excited to take it for a spin.

There’s been plenty of news coming out about this game, and the most interesting so far has been with the Cosplay Pickachu. Cosplay Pickachu features a heart-shaped tail and can be dressed up in many different outfits. I know this sounds silly but this is one step closer to getting a Squirtle with sunglasses.

Heart Shape Pikachus can be dressed up in Cosplay.
