While I’ve been playing Pokémon most of my gaming career, no title has left me with such positive vibes quite like Pokémon X & Y. So much so that I’ve already pre-ordered the upcoming Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. Now, I didn’t think I could be anymore pumped but more and more details are being released about the title. Even better are a few surprises Gamestop and Nintendo have for you.
The news from the Pokemon World Championship was the Pokémon TCG (card game) was making it’s way to the iPad. With Hearthstone doing as well as it is, that was no surprise. What did catch me off guard was the ability of taking physical cards and redeeming them for in-game usage. This is apparently done by utilizing the card code found in packs of the Pokémon TCG.
With the release of Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby Nintendo and Gamestop are celebrating with a very special promotion. Starting October 13th, head to your local Gamestop for a very special Shiny Gengar holding a Gengarite Mega Stone. If you haven’t guessed yet, that stone will allow Genga Mega Evolve into Shiny Mega Gengar.
Be sure to check back with your local Gamestop between October 27 through November 16, 2014 for the Mythical Pokémon Diancie for Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. After obtaining the Diancite Mega Stone in the new games, players can Mega Evolve Diancie into Mega Diancie during battles.

Finally news is coming out that Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will join Groudon and Kyogre in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, including their primal forms, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. They also have special abilities that will nullify Fire and Water Pokémon. Oh, and did I mention that the new Mega Evolve forms Mega Camerupt, Mega Sharpedo, and Mega Gallade?
