Hey Disney Infinity fans! It is I, Leland from the Movie Issues Podcast, or lelo1313 on the Infinity Cloud. Being a huge gamer and an even bigger Disney fan I always keep my ear to the ground for news about upcoming Disney Infinity products. Earlier this month I let everyone know about the new Marvel Battleground Toy Box Expansion coming 2016, also I speculated on the new Star Wars products coming. Click here for previous article. Well not long after that, Disney Interactive dropped more exciting news!
Now there has been confirmation to what Disney Infinity fans will be getting this December 18th when the new items hit stores. Up first is the new The Force Awakens Play Set featuring the figures of Finn and Rey. Which were shown at D23 this past August. The set will also include the play set piece and the digital codes for all products to be played online or your tablet.
What no one knew previously was the other figures that were being released. Many assumed, and were correct that we would get a Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron. They both look awesome and both come with their digital codes. By all accounts and rumors we, the fans, believed we were also going to get a Captain Phasma figure. Disappointingly we did not. It’s a shame really, not only because the figure would have been awesome looking, but also Infinity does still lack in the villain and female character department. So it would have been nice to have one more character from this new set. But who’s to say we won’t get one in the future. So keep them fingers crossed!
Also being released with the new Play Set and Figures on the 18th of December is a new Power Disc pack. Not much is known at this time what the discs will be. Many online presume that they might be spoiler filled, so new images of the discs haven’t been released. We might not know what they are until a few days before release or until we pick them up. All Infinity Force Awakens items are not being release until the same day as the movie itself comes out, so as not to have anything spoiled. Which is rather cool. See the movie in the morning, or if you’re a crazy awesome fan, the night before, then go to the store and get your figures. It’s a win-win.
