Review: Lady Bird

By guest writer The K.E.Y. Reviews.

Lady Bird is a fresh and unique coming-of-age film that offers drama and comedy with a sense of realism. As Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut and screenplay, the film did not disappoint. I say it’s one of the best movies of 2017 and definitely Oscar-worthy.

The movie is about a Sacramento girl, played by Saoirse Ronan, who names herself “Lady Bird.” It’s a movie about discovering oneself and molding the best version of it. It’s about choices and decisions and finding love, attention, and basically almost everything that’s usually happening in the real world. This movie is so realistic and funny and that’s why it got so much recognition. The movie offers almost everything.

Ronan’s charming performance is exceptional. The supporting roles of Lucas Hedges, Laurie Metcalf, Timothée Chalamet, Tracy Letts, and Beanie Feldstein made powerful contributions that were essential to the story. The nostalgia in this movie is just perfect and heartwarming.

The movie renders so many aspects and views in life that just takes you to a whole different perspective.
RATING: 10/10
