Young Justice: Outsiders SDCC 2017 Panel

After being cancelled in 2013 the odds were pretty against this show ever coming back. But due to an overwhelming outcry from fans, online support, streaming services, all social media and a sign/letter petition, it’s coming back! This new third season will be called Young justice: Outsiders. The continued adventures of the young DC heroes’ team will debut in 2018 exclusively on a new DC-focused digital service.

Calling all vampires, werewolves, zombies’, fans of horror and the people who love Halloween! Did you know there are several horror/Halloween conventions every year? I know right! Well this past weekend was Midsummer Scream 2017. Held at the beautiful Long Beach Convention Center near the Queen Mary and all sorts of fun things to do. It’s a wonderful weekend where all sorts of fans gather with friends and family to celebrate all things macabre.

Every year one of my favorite things is seeing all the new amazing collectibles that many toy companies and collectibles shops create. Here is a small gallery of some of the best and favorite things that were seen at this year Comic Con 2017. Review: Atomic Blonde

As July comes to an end so do many of the huge Hollywood summer blockbusters. Granted, there are some heavy hitters still due out in August: The Dark Tower, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and Logan Lucky. But just under the wire in July we get Atomic Blonde. Based on the graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnson and Sam Hart, and directed by David Leitch (John Wick and the upcoming Deadpool 2) we have an awesome 1980s action movie starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy. It’s big, it’s loud, full of action and humor and wonderful music. This is the movie you want to end July with.

Review: Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

The Fifth Element director Luc Besson returns to the realm of sci-fi with an expansive, super-expensive adventure whose creativity overshadows its more uneven elements, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The movie is based off of “Valérian and Laureline,” a sexy French comic book series featuring a pair of futuristic crime fighters who travel through space to uphold the law. What could have been a movie full of new philosophies and themes ends up just being really pretty and having no substance.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark Comics Coming Back

It’s been over ten years since Elvira had her own comic book, but Dynamite Entertainment has revealed that The Mistress of the Dark is getting a brand new comic, not to mention trading cards, posters and many other macabre collectibles featuring the horror icon made famous by actress Cassandra Peterson! No word just yet to when all these new items and comic series will begin showing up in stores, announcement at Comic-Con maybe. But one would assume this October is the time to start keeping your eyes open.
