The Best of Halloween TV

Every year, like many others, I gather up my friends together about once a week and watch Halloween theme TV or movies to get us in the spirit of this spooky time of year. So with Halloween approaching, I thought I’d do a small list of fun, nerdy TV and movies that I enjoy every year.  Maybe this might help some of you guys get ideas for what to show at your next horror movie night.

New Costumes in DC’s Relaunch Good or Bad?

With the recent announcement of the DC Relaunch lots and lots of information has smacked us in the face. Like who’s who? What’s happening to “such and such”? Where is my favorite character going? And what the hell are they now wearing?

I thought I’d take the time to spotlight some of the more bizarre fashion designs that we are going to be “looking forward” to in recent months. Now I haven’t been to the future to see if these costumes stick around. I’m just as fearful as the next geek, and trying to understand some of the  “bolder” choices.

Comic Issues Presents: Thor – Review

Recently, I had the pleasure of seeing an advanced screening of the Marvel Comics latest hero-turned Hollywood movie, Thor. In following the successful Iron Man franchise, and the soon to be released Captain America and Avengers movie, Marvel seems to be getting their continuity together for a very good set of films, which is a nice change of pace being that Marvel hasn’t been able to do the same for their latest books to save their lives. Perhaps Marvel needs to brake down and have a “Crisis.” That however, is not what this is about–this is about The Mighty Thor. Thankfully, here Marvel has another strong film on their hands. “Thor” is everything you’ve come to expect from a Marvel movie; it’s fun, action-packed, epic and widely accessible to comic fans and non-comic fans alike. As with all Marvel films to date, you should stay to the very end. Yes, suffer though the horrible Foo Fighters song–trust me, it’s worth it!
