Posted by: | – A command line forum

If you’ve been with technology for a while, you probably remember the days where everything was fed into the command line. Nowadays, we have a GUI for practically everything! Now, even if you didn’t grow up with the command line, I’m sure you know of it and at least how to use it in the most basic sense. Most people on the Internet have also stumbled across sites known as forums or message boards. Now, imagine for a moment that you’ve come across a forum website where everything is fed through command line. I’ve never seen a site quite like it ever before, except, but that is definitely not a forum. For some people, this will bring a great feeling of nostalgia, others may see a unique and intriguing concept, and some others, unfortunately, will probably hate it. To each their own, though.

To get on the site, you’ll need an invite code. I have reserved 20 for Pixelated Geek WHILE THEY LAST. The staff said that in a couple weeks, they were planning to remove existing invites to become more exclusive. If more than 20 people ask for invites, I can’t guarantee that extras will be available, but if they are I’ll still send. If you want an invite, just make a comment below and make sure to fill out the email field with a valid email. When you join, you can request invites and give them out as well, for now.

I bet by now you’re looking for a link to the site. Well here it is! [Click!] You can’t really do much without an invite code, but type in “pi” and hit enter for a kick. Sound helps.

MegaCon 2010 (Warning: lots of pics!)

Ok, let me first introduce you to what MegaCon is: Mega Convention (read: giant nerd fest). It’s held every year in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. They have something there for just about everyone: comics, manga, anime, movies, artists, collector’s items (action figures, figurines, etc…), video games, swords, dice, clothing, and plenty of miscellaneous stuff. One of the things you’ll also notice before you even get in is that there is a lot of cosplay; there’s even a contest for it! Now that you’re aware of the awesomeness of this convention, I took plenty of pics below for you to see what it’s like.

Heroes of Newerth beta invite giveaway!

Posted by: |

Alright, I logged into my account and found a surprise; I have some beta keys to give out. By some, I mean two. :P How can you get one of these keys? Simple: find the cutest picture of a cat that you can find and comment with a link to it. This won’t be a random picking; keys will go to the contestants with the two cutest cat pictures. You have until February 5th to get your entries in. In the event that there’s one or less entries by that time, the first entries thereafter will receive the keys, until I finally close this contest. I’ll also be hosting a giveaway of one more key on my blog after this contest; I’ll edit this post once I announce it. Good luck to all who enter!

R.U.S.E. Beta on Steam

Posted by: |

Straight from the Steam Storefront page:

R.U.S.E™ is a one-of-a-kind real-time strategy game that allows players to bluff their enemies to lead their nation to victory, controlling the action using views that range seamlessly from the heart of the battlefield to the full theatre of war. Players will be plunged into the action thanks to the exclusive IRISZOOM® engine which offers an intuitive interface that allows for smooth, rapid transitions from a birds-eye view of the entire conflict, down into the heat of the battle and vice versa.

In R.U.S.E, your brain is your ultimate weapon as you fight a war of perception, where your ability to deceive and mislead your enemy determines success. A first in a strategy game, R.U.S.E reinvigorates the genre by using deception to give new-found depth to the gameplay.

This game is supposed to come out in early 2010, but you can get in on it now by participating in the beta. All you need is a computer that can run it, Steam, and a Fileplanet account (all except the computer are free).

All you have to do is click here, login and enter the Captcha for your code, then go to Ubisoft’s site, redeem it, and wait for your Steam key. It’ll allow you to play until December 23. I’ve got the game and I’m desperately looking for people to have unranked matches against for practice, so go ahead and add Defender0fHyrule to your friends if you’ve got the game, so we can play together. Below is an awesome trailer for the game. It’s free for the beta, so you can only lose time by trying it. DO IT! :P

Free PS3 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS3 Beta Code [Closed]

Posted by: |

So, here’s the deal. A couple of days ago on twitter, @EA gave away 50 beta codes for the US beta on the PS3 of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I jumped on it and got one for my friend, but he wasn’t interested in it. Most of my other friends don’t use PS3, so I’ll give it out here. Following EA’s method, first to comment on this post gets it. :)

Funny cat videos around the net

Posted by: |

I just saw the contest from Pixelated Geek for Twin Sector and I absolutely could not miss this one! So here’s some awesomely funny videos (at least in my opinion). There’s a lot of cat videos, but I don’t care what you think. I’m a furry and cats are awesome! Plus, they’re damn funny!

Yeah, uh, that’s it for now.
