Preview – Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea

Happy Halloween! Dark Horse is celebrating the day with the first look at Mike Mignola and Gary Gianni’s Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea. Hellboy’s in trouble again (I know, big surprise right?) and it’s bad enough when an unruly mob thinks you’re Satan: the appearance of someone who might actually be Satan is obviously much worse. Review: Visitor

I put off reading this book for a while because I thought the series hit a low point: overcomplicated, too much back story, and moving at a snail’s pace. I was worried that this book was going to be even more of a slog than the last one.

Man, I wish I could say I’d been worried for nothing.

Click the jump for a look at C.J. Cherryh’s Visitor, the last book in the Foreigner series I plan on reviewing.

Review – Wonder Woman: The True Amazon

I’ll admit, my opinion is pretty divided regarding this book, and I have a feeling that’s going to be the opinion of a lot of readers. It’s not just the direction of the story that gives me mixed feelings, but the art too (and seeing as how much I adore Jill Thompson’s art, that’s a bold statement.) See below for a spoiler-free review of Wonder Woman: The True Amazon.

(NSFW!) but to tide us over we’ll have a new Empowered three-issue mini series this February, drawn by Karla Diaz. Click the jump for info and preview pages for Empowered and the Soldier of Love.

Preview and Review: Transformers More Than Meets The Eye #57

It’s here: in case you missed the announcement this summer, this week is the final, very last issue of Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye. And if you totally missed that announcement and are currently having a heart attack, you’ll be happy to hear that the book is being rebranded as Transformers: Lost Light starting in December – same crew, and James Roberts is still writing it.

Seriously though, do you need the defibrillator? Cause I’d be all over that. While you make up your mind, click the jump for preview pages and a (really really really spoiler-filled) review of Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye #57.

(CLEAR!)
