You already know it takes tons of people to produce the comics you love, and not just writers, artists, colorers, letterers, and editors. There’s also marketing folks, financial coordinators, and more. And in every department you can find talented artists who produce art in their own time that isn’t featured in the comics you read. And this month Dark Horse and Sequential Art Gallery + Studio in Portland will make sure some of this art gets seen. See below for the official word from Dark Horse on Work Horse: Art by the People Who Make Your Comics.
Marvel Comics’ “Ms. Marvel” Encourages Everyone to Vote
Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel wants YOU to Embiggen Your Voice
New York, NY—November 4, 2016— It’s election season in the United States and Marvel wants to remind everyone that they have one of the greatest powers there is – the ability to vote! And who better to champion this ability than Marvel’s breakout Super Hero, Ms. Marvel.
So Sherlock and the White Witch played a little game of Jenga as part of the press circuit for Doctor Strange. It was twenty-four glorious minutes. Fan questions were written on the tiles (or bricks as Benedict kept calling them). Watching them answer those questions just made me squeal. I personally am always in awe of how intelligent these two are and to have them together talking about French writers and the Theory of Relativity almost made me faint. I am going to go fan myself while you guys watch the youtube video! Have fun!
Pixelatedgeek.com’s very good friend, and expert steampunk cosplayer, Tony Quirk, attended the San Diego Gaslight Gathering Steampunk Convention last weekend. His photos give us all a great idea of how fun it was! The costumes are amazing.
Thank you Tony!

My theories and speculations are based on the Sherlock SDCC 2016 Hall H panel, the interwebs and my crazy head of thoughts of what I think should happen.
Marvel’s best and brightest heroes are stepping to the head of the class for a series of special variant covers. Marvel has announced five special STEAM Variants coming to several Marvel titles this November.
I just finished the Netflix original series Stranger Things. My insides are still shaking from the range of excitement this show delivers in so many different ways. There is a lot of crap on TV these days, but this is far from it. If you don’t have Netflix this show should be the reason you fork over the dough and get it. The creators of this series are Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, twin brothers in their 30s who were turned down over a dozen times from various studios for this project. I am sure those studios are kicking themselves right now because this show delivers everything you want in a sci-fi thriller.
