MC Chris Kickstarts the Animated Jams

Nerdcore legend, animation super star, and all-around-nice-guy MC Chris has been doing everything he can to make his dream of The MC Chris Show a reality.  The animated show starring MC Chris himself has been bounced about and beaten down for years now. Some may remember a previous Kickstarter to make a sizzle reel for the show a while back.  That short, but awesome piece of animation nearly got the show picked up by Adult Swim, (where Chris has both portrayed several beloved characters and written for some of their very first original shows).

Sadly, Adult Swim kicked Chris and his show out of the pool, leaving the poor nerd icon out in the cold.  Now he’s going back to the people who have supported him before in a new Kickstarter to fund finishing the animated short that the first crowd sourced project started.

Matt Smith OFFICIALLY leaves Doctor Who

It’s been a whirlwind year for Doctor Who fans with the second half of the season and the mystery of the Impossible Girl alone.  Then word began to go around that Matt Smith would be leaving the show at the end of the year. Some were upset (and Andrew was thrilled) by the announcement, but recently articles claiming that Smith would continue on to Season 8 began to surface, causing Whovians a great deal of whiplash.

Well now it’s official today that Mr. Smith will be leaving Doctor Who with is last episode being the enormous 50th Anniversary Special this November, as shown in this BBC press release:

Superman: Unbound Review

2013 must be the Year of Steel, as Superman is appearing on both the big and small screen in his own movies. In only a few weeks the big red “S” will shine on the silver screen in Man of Steel, Supe’s triumphant homecoming to film after his disappointing appearance in Superman Returns (2008).

Luckily, fans of the Big Blue Boyscout don’t have to wait until then to get their Super-fix, as DC Animated has released another animated movie, Superman: Unbound. Based on the graphic novel Superman: Brainiac, written by Geoff Johns, Superman finds his home planet of Earth under attack by the same villain that terrorized his home world of Krypton, the evil robot Brainiac.

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox Trailer

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox Trailer

DC Animated released a trailer today for its next animated movie based on Geoff Johns’ Flashpoint series. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox is the first time The Flash will get to take the center stage.  Set in an alternate timeline where the entire DCU has been turned on its head, Barry Allen must team up with an unlikely Batman to find the cause of the time paradox and set things back on their proper timeline.

Flashpoint features the voice talent of fan favorites Nathan Fillion (Hal Jordan), Ron Pearlman (Slade Wilson), Cary Elwes (Aquaman), and the amazing talent of Kevin McKidd (Batman), as well as Micheal B. Jordon (Cyborg), C. Thomas Howell (Reverse-Flash), and Justin Chambers (The Flash)The Flashpoint story ended the previous continuity of comics, making way for the New 52 continuity.

Does this mean that we’ll be seeing new continuity stories in future DC Animated movies?
