Wednesday’s Featured Artistic Creations: All-Stars of Comics

Posted by: |

Comic-Con wrapped up a few days ago so I decided to dedicate this week’s Featured Artistic Creations to the comic book heroes we all know and love. Superman, Wolverine and the Green Lantern are all characters that facinated us as kids and even still as adults.

As a kid I remember tucking a towel into the colar of my shirt and running around like I was Superman. Actually my girlfriend caught me doing it last week too…but enough about me.

This week’s masterpieces are from deviantArt user LastSonofKrypton38 (how fitting right?). Check out his online profile here if you like what you see. Make sure you click the thumbs to super size them bitches.

And as usual let us know if you dable in the arts and would like your work posted. We’ll be glad to feature it here to make you rich and famous…for a fee of course.

"The Sisters" by Jhonen Vasquez print from Comic Con ’09

Posted by: |

Hello, I’m Dex. This is my first article for the site, and its great timing that I get to write an article post San Diego Comic Con, giving me tons of fodder.

Over the past few years, I’ve been recently interested in buying and picking up prints exclusive to conventions and meeting the artists who create them. Much to my surprise, one of my favorite artists Jhonen Vasquez (creator of Invader Zim, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, etc) was at the Bioshock 2 with a print inspired by the game. Jhonen was there to sign the limited prints, and even better, it was free.

For fans of the Bioshock series, it is amazing. Even if you aren’t a fan of the series, it still is quite a piece, especially for those (like me) who are fans of Jhonen’s work and/or darker work in general. For those interested in the production of “The Sisters,” Jhonen put up a comprehensive blog about creating the print on the official Bioshock 2 website under The Cult of Rapture.

Extra Value Combo Alpha by Lysol Jones

Extra Value Combo Alpha by Lysol Jones

This week’s Featured Artistic Creations takes everything you remember about popular fast food mascots from your childhood and punches them square in the balls. Super size that!

The deviantArt user’s we are featuring this week all had the same goal. To take innocent spokes people we all know and love and show us their darker side. And in Wendy’s case they show us more of her rack. Is she legal? Does anyone know? ‘Cause if she isn’t than I take the previous statement back…I was quoted out of context…

Moving along, feel free to click the thumbs below to get a better look at all this madness.

And as usual if you or someone you know is graphically gifted we want to know. We’d love to feature your work here at PG. Drop us a line here and we’ll get back to you.

One word: CREATIVE!

I like post-its, I use them often. I stick them every where. On my walls, on my computer monitor, on my lappy, and my head…..

I think everyone can relate to this guy when it comes to working and deadlines. I like how they even included the bullshitting part. That was a plus. because dont we all do that? =)

Wanna see how they did it?

15 Pictures of Video Game Graffiti, Street Art, and Downright Vandalism

As you may or may not know/care, I’ve been gone for a long time. Life without Internet is a terrible thing. However, rather than doing something more productive with my time, I decided to spend my Internet-less day(s) delving into shitty artwork – I vandalized my backyard with chalk. Ladies and gentlemen, this is my Mario mural in Silicon Valley, California. You can click on the pictures for higher resolutions.

To honor my great piece of work, I’ve decided to post it alongside other forms of video game vandalism. Please enjoy them after the break. Read On
