PSX 2015 Preview: Tinertia (PS4)

Tinertia is a tough as nails precision platformer with one huge caveat; there is no “jump” button. In Tinertia you play as Weldon, a little robot with a rocket launcher for an arm, who happens to be explosion proof. Weldon is stranded on a planet that’s filled with horrible mazes that are lousy with spikes and lasers, and the only way to get through it all is to master the art of rocket jumping.

PSX 2015 Preview: Strike Vector EX (PS4)

The second annual PlayStation Experience was home to a bevy of games coming to PlayStation 4, PS3, and the PS Vita. One of my overall favorite games of the show was Strike Vector EX for PS4. Developed by Ragequit Corporation, Strike Vector was originally released on PC back in January of 2014 to generally positive reviews. The game offered fast paced aerial combat and combined elements from games like Ace Combat and Star Fox all while embracing a style that was reminiscent of Robotech. And it is absolutely gorgeous to look at.

The Highs and Lows of the PSX 2015 Keynote

This past weekend, the second annual PlayStation Experience invaded Moscone West in Downtown San Francisco. PlayStation fans from all around the world were in attendance to celebrate a community that was brought together by a mutual love of gaming. As is customary for a gathering such as PSX, the celebration began with a keynote speech from PlayStation’s heavy hitters like Shawn Layden, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America and Gio Corsi, head of Third Party Studios and the savior of the PS Vita, to name a few. But of course, as with any keynote, there were glorious highs, and rocky lows. Read On

The expansion is centered around Warcraft’s Brann Bronzebeard and his team of archaeological explorers. Ren Fests are technically Geek conventions too, especially when they have theme days like “Time Travelers Weekend”. Festival attendees of the Carolina Renaissance Festival on the weekend of November 14-15 were invited to attend dressed as their favorite time traveling character inspired by movies, TV, comic books, science fiction and/or fantasy. Kathryn was able to go (dressed rather conservatively as a Scottish Highland lass with Steampunk accessories), and staff photographer Nathan Adams along with guest photographer Randy Kalaf captured a sample of the fandoms who traveled back to the 16th century for the weekend.

Nerd Con 2015 – Photo and Video Gallery

I think it’s safe to say the attendance at this weekend’s first ever Nerd Con surprised everyone. The line to pick up tickets stretched all the way around the California Center for the Arts Escondido, the sales floor was massively packed, and the cosplayers were out in force. Despite the heat, the mood was upbeat and excited: if the first year is this good, we can hopefully look forward to even more awesomeness next year.

Click the jump to see a huge photo gallery of photos and videos by (or of) the PG crew in attendance: Stephanie Agnes, Jada Scarbrough, Elizabeth Wallace, Leland Pierce Jr., Jordan Pollock, and Anthony Silva.
