It’s time for Things to Look Forward to… Essentially a list of stuff that’s coming out this week. Pucker up cause The Princess and the Frog is out. New Moon howls it’s way onto Blu Ray with multiple Special Editions depending where you buy it. I believe Best Buy has the Tin Case version. The Ghost of Sparta is back in the PS3 release of God of War 3. Supposed to be a great game, though I’ve been hearing it’s a little short. Speaking of Spartaaaaa Gerald Butler’s new film The Bounty Hunter makes it’s theatrical debut this friday. If you see anything I’ve missed please drop a comment.

GDC Highlight 3-12-10 – Sixense TrueMotion system
Second day at the GDC conference and I managed to hit one other interesting display for us gamers: the Sixense TrueMotion system. Available for demonstration using an in-house demo peripheral, Sixense hopes to ship this new motion-sensing technology for use in a new Razer product.
Where the Wii and the Sony Move rely on infrared detection, this new technology detects motion and position through magnetic fields. Each of the two remotes/paddles being used contains a magnet, and position and direction are defined by their relation to the surrounding magnetic field. Sixense hopes a planned product manufactured by Razor will be more precise than the Wiimote or the Sony Move. They plan to convert older titles for use with the Sixense.
The Sixense was originally planned to support casual games, but demonstrations with the new technology using a converted Left 4 Dead 2 demonstrated its promise. Sixense had a booth available with the demo for play; it not only supported specific arcs of thrown grenades or aiming guns with both remotes, but also supported free-flowing control of the game’s sword, allowing for a variety of strokes and twirls. Precision and control both seemed more fluid than some wii titles, allowing for sweeping movements.
At this time, both the final price of any completed product and its release date are unknown. Sixense hopes for a winter release. They also hope to see the technology utilized in future releases.

It’s another week which means another release list. This weeks release list is of no surprise filled with Video Game goodness. Starting with the release of Final Fantasy 13 for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. While I’m pretty sure I won’t be buying this I may rent it one day. In other Video Game fun, Sunday is the release day for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. I’m kinda excited about the game, but way more excited about the PokeWalker!!!! In other areas specifically Blu Ray you have the release of Evangelion: 1.11 You Are Not Alone. Which I’m pumped to watch. While in Theaters it’s time for some Damon fun with Green Zone. If you see anything I missed drop a comment.

This week’s release list is horrifying great, with a variety of releases. In the Blu Ray category we have Studio Ghibli’s latest film Ponyo. While the DVD has more of the Ghilbli collection: Castle in the Sky, Kiki’s Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro. If you haven’t watched a Ghilbli movie your missing out, in my opinion they’re better then both Disney and Pixar. As for Video Games Battlefield Bad Company 2 is making it’s debut. Then in Theaters Tim Burton’s latest flick Alice and Wonderland makes it’s way to the big screen. I think I’ll skip this one, maybe watch my favorite Time Burton movie: Ed Wood :) Anywho if you see anything I’m missing drop me a line.
PAX East Schedule is Up!

Friends, it should not come as a shock that we are going to PAX East, in fact we have been over this.
But now you can read up on all the fun/sexy/awesome events and panels that we will be attending HERE! Ahh yes, quiver with joy for us or tremble in sadness for the fact that you cannot attend. But here is my offer to you friends, You comment and tell us which panels you REALLY want us to go to and/or any brilliant sauce questions you have for panelists. In return Rett, Bob, and I will do our darnedest to see your hopes materialized.
Sorry, Blackstreet: we DO want Diggity
So, I have this friend at the improv club where I perform named Dave Dobson. If you don’t know him, he is not only a hilarious improviser, geology and computer science professor at Guilford College (scroll down, second one on the page), and excellent gamer, he also happens to be the creator of several fine games. If your GPA suffered sophomore year like mine did, it was probably because of a little game called Snood. That game is Dave’s. As is the one heralded in the banner above. Dave just recently premiered Diggity, a strategic card game that makes Gold Rush mining more exciting than a Jessica Simpson sarsaparilla. Though I imagine that sarsaparilla would look really good but then taste like an idiot in your mouth. Also, I found out that sarsaparilla is spelled this way because of this repost. Who knew? DO go check out this game and Dave’s other creations around the web. I’ve talked with Nelson, and we’re even going to try to get Dave on a podcast in the future. GO DIGGITY!

It’s time for another Release List. There appears to be a large amount of DVDs/Blu Rays being released this week. In terms of Blu Rays release the Justice League makes it’s debut with Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Which will feed my recent addiction to DCU. Just begun re-reading the Green Lantern Rebirth and have been on a DCU kick. In the Video Game department Heavy Rain is finally being released. Which I’m really pumped about, enjoyed the hell out of Indigo Prophecy. Though I’ve heard it’s only 8hrs so I guess it’ll be a rental :( If you see anything I miss drop a comment. Have a good rest of the week.

Let’s start with Blu Ray, a movie I was very interested in watching finally makes it’s way to Blu Ray with the release of Black Dynamite!! Also in the Blu Ray Category Master Chief makes his way with Halo Legends. Personally they should make a Mass Effect Animated Feature then we’ll talk :) As for Video Games there is Data East Arcade Classics. In case you were curious what are on the disc all you need to know is Magic Drop III is on there. If you haven’t ever played Magic Drop it’s one of my all time fav Puzzle Games. It’s a very fast paced game that takes some fast thinking :) Anywho if you see anything that I’m missing drop a comment.

Well another week another Release List. This week features the great Holiday of Valentine’s Day. Though for the life of me I still can’t figure out who decided it was a good idea not to release New Moon on the week of Valentine’s Day. Seems like a no brainer to me. That’s okay ladies cause Arnold has got your back, with the long awaited release of the Running Man on Blu Ray :) If that wasn’t romantic enough for you, the Video Games come to the rescue with BioShock 2 and Dante’s Inferno. Now that screams romantic. It seems the only Valentine’s Day Themed item would be in theaters with the release of Valentine’s Day. If you see anything I’ve missed drop a comment.

Don’t forget to wear your Underdark.
Are Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch hanging out in my room? ‘Cause it’s kinda filled with glee. This past week, the amazon.com fairy left a present on my door stoop: the D&D 4th edition Underdark supplement.
