As legislation continues to roll forward in the legalization of varying levels of marijuana consumption, I sit and muse… is this the biggest importance for us to deal with right now? Should the government give two shits about a medication that shows promise, just because of its origins/history?
There are three sides in the debate. The first being the law as-is, driven by the largely failed war on drugs. The second are the legitimate users who use pot as an herbal alternative to other, man-made medications with more severe side effects. The third and final are the vocal, annoying majority. This majority are the weekend stoners, wanna-be rebels, sloths and the seeking-inspiration creatives.
While I do not take a personal desire in using pot recreationally, I do deal with them on a passing basis, as does every one of you. These were the guys whose debate topics in school were about the pro-marijuana movement. The ones that argued pot should be legal because “like, you can make clothes n’ stuff out of it” (that’s HEMP you twits, there are differences).
