iLuv announced new Dual-Alarm Clock with Rumble Pack

iLuv announced new Dual-Alarm Clock with Rumble Pack

I’ll admit it.  It takes 2 alarms to wake me up, and still, I have a tendency to continue sleeping.  This is not a good thing. Especially on weekdays when I usually blame traffic for my lateness to work, when instead it should be my lazy, sleepy butt not getting out of bed.  To help people like me, iLuv has created the iMM178 Vibe Plus dual-alarm clock with one unique feature.  A thing that looks like a mouse, connected to the device, that rumbles when the alarm goes off.  The iMM178 Vibe Plus is going for $99.99.  Just put this “rumble pack” under your pillow before you sleep and hopefully it’ll rumble your head enough to wake you up. If that still doesn’t wake you up, then place a bucket of water above you but on top of the rumble pack before you sleep.

Key Features:
•    Bed shaker vibrates a bed or a pillow to wake up the heaviest of sleepers and includes a 3-level volume control
•    Built-in speakers featuring jAura acoustic speaker technology allow you to hear your music with depth and clarity
•    Dual Alarm function for 7-5-2 everyday, weekday or weekends wake options
•    Time-sync function that synchronizes time for your iPhone & iPod
•    Large easy to read digital display with 10 level LCD dimmer control
•    2 Way volume control – from the main unit or from the shaker
•    Integrated universal dock for your iPod plays and charges your iPhone and iPod

Digital Dual Alarm Clock Capabilities:
•    Dual alarm clock function allows a couple to wake to separate alarms
•    10-Way to wake up including to iPod, FM radio, buzzer, bed shaker, iPod + bed shaker, FM radio + bed shaker, buzzer + bed shaker

•    FM stereo
•    PLL digital tuning technology improves the radio signal clarity
•    Programmable presets for 10 radio stations

Final Fantasy I & II Now Available in the App Store

Final Fantasy I & II Now Available in the App Store

*Cue Final Fantasy Victory Theme*

That’s right, folks. The first two Final Fantasy games are now available for the iPhone (and iPod touch as well). Sure, we’ve had remakes of the games for the Game Boy Advance and PlayStation Portable, but iPhone gamers out there that didn’t bother with either system can now bask in glory that is Final Fantasy. Priced at $9 piece, the games come with the special dungeons that have been included since the GBA rereleases. So for all of you that have always wanted to see what all the rage is about or just want to go back and experience the games all over again, what are you waiting for?

Titanium iPhone is possible

I don’t know about you but I’m not a fan of the plastic back to the current model iPhones. When the iPhone 3G was released, Apple went with the plastic back, over the stronger and better looking, in my opinion, aluminium backing that the original iPhone wielded due to radio issues. I’ve often thought whether it would be possible to replace the backing of the iPhone 3GS with something a little more hardy and slick looking. Well now, despite some nay-sayers, an Austrian man with a passion for perfection has proved that it is possible, if a little costly to do.

Street Fighter IV coming to your iPhone

Street Fighter IV coming to your iPhone

I’m not sure what to think about this idea. Sure, Street Fighter IV is fun, but I’m not sure how fun it will be on an iPhone.  It’s a very interesting move by Capcom and one that I didn’t see coming.  As you can tell by GamePro’s hands-on demo video below, your thumbs blocks out most of the animated action while you’re trying to do some basic special moves like a fireball or hurricane kick. Two good things about this game though is that you’ll be able to play with another person with the game, wirelessly. The other good thing is that it doesn’t look like it’ll be difficult to perform an ultra combo.  Just take the revenge meter and the combo will activate. What are your thoughts guys? Will you be plopping down $9.99 on it?

Bikini Swimwear iPhone app is just too hot for Apple

Bikini Swimwear iPhone app is just too hot for Apple

More and more news about innocent iPhone apps being taken down because Apple is too scared to put any type of nudity on the iTunes store. Simply Beach’s swimwear catalog iPhone app was one of the 5,000 apps to be taken down over the last weekend.  Again, no fair warning from Apple.  Just a “no app store for you” e-mail.  Now, I understand that having sexy photos on your app could lead to pornography. But a swimwear catalog? Yes, there are girls in bikini’s on it, but this is going way too far. Where will it end? Oh, right. It’ll end if you have a multi-million dollar company or an app with hot girls in burqas.

Gameloft’s Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front hits the App Store

The follow up to the hugely successful Brothers In Arms for iPhone has hit the App Store. BIA2 features more WWII action in both the solo story mode or up to 5 player multiplayer in conflicts across five locations including Africa, Europe and the Pacific. With decent 3D graphics and action revolving around a now familiar cover scheme wielding machine guns, bazookas, sniper rifles, flamethrowers and more, if you were a fan of BIA then there’s plenty more to like in BIA2 including a tank and even a glider.

Apple bans your sexy app, unless you’re an already established name or animated

Apple bans your sexy app, unless you’re an already established name or animated

Got photos in your iPhone app that depict women in sexy bikini’s with big boobs? Well, check your e-mail.  You might have a notice from Apple saying that have removed your app from the app store. Why? Because of Apple’s revision to their app guidelines.

The App Store continues to evolve, and as such, we are constantly refining our guidelines. Your application contains content that we had originally believed to be suitable for distribution. However, we have recently received numerous complaints from our customers about this type of content, and have changed our guidelines appropriately.

Oh no! Women in bikinis! I’m scared this will ruin my child’s life! Seriously, who are these people that complain about this? I’m not sure if these people know but there is a parental control system in iTunes and the iPhone to stop your “innocent” child from downloading these apps.

Now, if you search the iTunes store, you’d think that all Bikini related apps have been removed because of these new guidelines. Nope. After searching for apps using the keywords bikini or sexy, the search results came back with: Kim Kardashian photo app, Playboy app, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit App, Bikini Surfing App, and Terror at Bikini Beach.

So, the bottom line is that if you already have a well established name or the women are animated big-boobed characters in bikinis, your app is A-OK. Geeze, Apple, get it together.  It’s just like that South Park episode with Tom Cruise in the closet.  “Either everything is ok to make fun of, or nothing.” So, in this cause, either all Bikini apps are ok, or no Bikini apps are ok. No gray lines.

Plants VS Zombies now in the App Store

Pop Cap games has promised a mobile version of their wildly popular tower defense since last year.  Then they pushed the release date back for some reason.  Maybe because they made some tweaks due to the new iPad SDK.  Well, now your patience has paid off.  You can now get this game in the app store for $2.99.  Not a bad price I must say.  Get it now!
