Review – Delicious Library 3 – Mac OS X

OVERALL SCORE: 9.0

As a Geek I’m plagued by unseen costs, both in a monetary sense and then there’s that pesky matter of shelving space to display your collection. And if you are anything like me, you probably enjoy sharing these items with your friends, but oftentimes it becomes a bit difficult to keep track of everything. Two years ago with a move on the horizon, I wanted to make sure I knew not only what I had, but could easily track them if lent out. Like most of us do, I turned to the fabled Google in search of a solution.

To my surprise, there was a program that seemed perfectly suited to solve my predicament: the Delicious Library 2. I’ve used the program exclusively these past two years. So when I caught wind of an update, I was more then excited, especially with the timing as I had just made what I hoped was my final move.

How does Delicious Library 3 compare to it’s previous version? Is this the ultimate in collection database program fun?

Review – Logitech Harmony Ultimate

“One remote to rule them all” has been my goal for my entertainment center. And for a time, I was able to achieve this through my first encounter with the Harmony series of remotes.

Sadly after a solid six years of use, my Xbox 360 version had finally went on to the big electronic shop in the sky. It was time for an upgrade, in the most ultimate way…

After doing plenty of research and setting my father’s house up with the Harmony 750 series, I came across a Harmony given the title of Ultimate. It seemed like I found my remote, and let me sum up our first encounter as I quote

Is it okay to be attracted to an object?

New Girl

So is this the ultimate in remotes? Does it really bring Harmony to a once multiple remote household?

OVERALL SCORE: 8.5

Xbox One – The Next Generation of Microsoft’s Gaming Console

Today sees the announcement of Microsoft’s next generation of gaming console, and the stakes are high.

Microsoft has lost a lot of consumer faith over the last six months due to a number of crippling rumors about the features of the new Xbox – and perhaps more importantly, a lack of response to these rumors. Threats of always-on internet connectivity requirements, relatively lackluster specs, storage media concerns, and more have spread like wildfire, and Microsoft’s response has largely been dangerous silence. Sony’s headstart announcement did a lot to build momentum for the storied giant and to provide a safe alternative to many of the concerns that the gaming public has about the Xbox.

And therefore today’s conference is an incredibly important moment for Microsoft. They still have a great deal of brand momentum, and they absolutely need to use it. There are important questions that need to be answered, and they need to be answered clearly and quickly.

So what’s the verdict on today’s conference? Does the Xbox One deserve your attention? Find out below.

Sony Announces Playstation 4

In a particularly detail-oriented Press Conference, Sony announced its next generation Playstation 4 in a particularly detail-oriented press conference, including such tidbits as its release date, technical specifications, and a slew of details surrounding its launch.

First and foremost, the Playstation 4 will launch during the 2013 holiday season (exact date TBD), and will feature a shiny, new touch-sensitive DualShock 4, as well as a brand new interface and a reimagining of the Playstation Network. Also absolutely earth-shattering was the announcement of a partnership with PC juggernaut Blizzard and the release of Diablo III for both PS3 and PS4. The degree to which this could skew the balance of the fight for the living room cannot be underestimated.

Tech Review: Pogo Connect

While I’m a digital artist, I’ve always been tethered to my desk. Armed with my trusty Sketchbook, Scanner and Wacom, doing digital artwork can be a bit of a chore. While the advent of the Tablet certainly changed the playing field, Pogo has stepped in with the ultimate tool for any digital artist.

I’m referring to the Pogo Connect, a bluetooth pen that connects with your tablet to give you that pressure sensitivity that you’ve grown accustom to with your Wacom.

How does the Pogo Connect stack up to the Wacom? Is this the pen you’ve sought to unchain you from your desk, and become a mobile artist?

Tech Review: Ollo Clip iPhone 4S

When it comes to functionality, the iPhone has become the one device to rule them all. I find myself using my iPhone for practically everything I do, the only short coming was with the camera. While it takes some really nice photos, there was always the dream of getting a little more width out of my shot, especially when interviewing people. It always felt a bit cramped.

Well, the Ollo Clip has been around for a while now and I finally got a chance to take it out for a test drive. While recently upgrading to an iPhone 5, I had to borrow my wife’s iPhone 4s for a trip to the zoo so I could see what this little baby could do. Is the Ollo Clip the next best thing for the iPhone? Does it rival the rather bulky DSLR cameras?

Review: Tritton Warhead 7.1

During my trip to E3 2012, I was introduced to the latest and greatest in tech and gaming. One thing stood out in my mind was the realization that wireless headsets were finally here. Not saying that they weren’t, it’s just that none have really been in the same ring as their wired counterparts.

So how does the Warhead 7.1 compare? Is it the ultimate in 7.1 Wireless fun?
