Review – DC Rebirth Holiday Special

Review – DC Rebirth Holiday Special

If you need a break from all the gloom and bad feelings going around lately, the Rebirth Holiday Special is the way to do it. I liked some of the stories more than others, but I enjoyed all of them, and while some of them tended to beat you over the head with tidings of comfort and joy, they mostly did it with nudges and winks.

The Highs and Lows of the PSX 2016 Keynote

The PlayStation Experience has come and gone for another year, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t bring some good and some not so good stuff with it. As with last year’s keynote, PlayStation came in swinging and left the room full of PlayStation fans impressed for the most part. Granted there were a few moments where it seemed Sony might be dropping the ball, but they quickly made up for it by doing what Sony does best: cater to their audience. And with that, let’s take a look at what the internet thought was the greatest thing of all time, and what was the worst thing to ever happen ever. Hyperbole is fun! Hit the jump to read on or watch the showcase yourself below!

Review: Star Wars Aftermath – Life Debt

The journey to The Force Awakens continues in the second book of Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy.

The scrappy band of misfits, bounty hunters, and former soldiers introduced in the first book has been successfully (for the most part) tracking down high-ranking Imperial officers and dragging them back to the New Republic.

Far from being wiped out, the remnants of the Empire are stubbornly holding on to the planets they control and gathering their forces for another attack against the New Republic. But while some Imperial officers truly believe that having the Empire in charge would be better for the galaxy (certainly better than the chaos that’s going to result from the New Republic’s idealistic half-measures), others are working behind the scenes to return to the days of secret police, puppet governments, and an Emperor like Palpatine. Only much worse.

Review and Preview – Transformers: Lost Light #1

It’s finally here, the series that picks up where More Than Meets the Eye left off. Lost Light hits shelves tomorrow, but does it live up to the legacy MTMTE left behind? Better question: is the story as goofy and badass and complex with all the feels? Does it have the same jaw-droppingly gorgeous art?

(Yeah, I’ve set the bar kind of high. What can I say, I’m a fan.)

See below for preview pages and a spoiler-free review of Transformers: Lost Light #1.

Binary System Podcast #62 – WTNV #99 “Michigan”

This week, intern Kareem is dealing with some family issues in his hometown Mitchigan. Mmmitcchigan. Mmisshtigan. Mishhigan. Mishhtigan. Okay we can’t quite get the pronunciation right, but it’s that state right between OhHEEoh and Canada. Kareem’s worried that his Mom sounds a little different in her latest letters. Nothing big, she just seems to think her son Kareem is still at home, so she doesn’t know who this total stranger is who keeps sending her letters. You know, the usual family stuff.
