Top 5 Reasons to Play Red Dead Redemption

Since midnight on May 18th I have been held captive by Red Dead Redemption.  It’s beautiful, engrossing, and just plain fun.  Here are my top five reasons why you should be playing it this instance.

5)It’s Huge

This game is absolutely humongous. Rockstar games has made some big games before, most recently in Grand Theft Auto 4 where they managed to recreate New York Liberty City in grand fashion.  This world is just as vibrant as any Rockstar has created in the past.  It is positively teeming with life, from animals darting across your path, to bandits trying to set you up by pretending to be in need of assistance.  There is even buried treasure to be found!

Who says Maps Can't be Cool

Apparently typing "men don't need directions" into google pulls up Mr. T

While roaring down the internet highway on my moped I ran into this map detailing the size of the actual game worlds in several prominent open world games, including Grand Theft Auto, World of Warcraft. Pretty neat. Also I want to continue this whole, “what are you playing thing”. Personally I am getting my butt whooped on the regular in Super Street Fighter 4 and in the Halo:Reach beta. Plus I am still ridiculously puppy kickingly excited about Red Dead Redemption. I’m going to have a posse. Boom Shakalaka baby.

5)Pedestrians

Just pointing us in the right direction

If there is one thing that Grand Theft Auto has taught me, it is pimping ain’t easy when you are on crack and trying to drive a car you shot with a rocket launcher.  Oh and also that pedestrians love getting in the way. That seems to be their only goal in life. They are always doing stupid things like being on the sidewalk. The nerve. They practically beg to be mowed down. They should either be inside, or be in a car. Although I also tend to drive into those things as well. Maybe we just shouldn’t have other people. Then I would always win. hmmmm

The Simpsons Game – Great for Co-Op

After 21 long years of entertaining us with what Wikipedia.org says, a “satirical parody of a working-class American lifestyle” on television. It wouldn’t take long for this American family to hit the next generation gaming systems with the same MOJO of comedy it has provided us in cartoons and return in a new video game ( Of course it released in 2007). Let me reintroduce you all to…. HOMER, MARGE, BART, LISA, and MAGGIE in

Why does this make for a good Co-op game? Why wouldn’t it…. everyone knows THE SIMPSONS (You better be saying “DO’H” right now).

Top Five Games to look for in 2010

The first quarter for this year might have been this best one ever. Huge triple A titles like Bayonetta, Mag, and Mass Effect 2 have already dropped. So with all the commotion at the start of the year it might feel like the rest of the year is going to be a bigger let down than Colonial Williamsburg (just kidding I love that place. Mock Trials people). So here are my top five games to get way to excited about this year. (honorable mentions go out to The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo 5, and Starcraft 2…..yea I know by the time the last two ever come out we will probably be riding around in those sweet recliners from Wall-E but a boy can dream right)
